Brake Safety Day 2017
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will hold its annual Brake Safety Day on Thursday, September 7, 2017. On Brake Safety Day, law enforcement agencies will conduct inspections on large trucks to identify out-of-adjustment brakes, and brake-system and antilock braking system (ABS) violations as part of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) Operation Airbrake Program.
Brake Safety Day was created by the CVSA to help reduce the number of crashes caused by poorly maintained braking systems on commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). Inspectors will be advised to not only identify, but remove vehicles from roadways that have critical brake violations.
